Through the Round (well, oval) Window
Or the square window, or the arched window, or any shape window you like! This week on Daring Cradmakers "its Rhi setting the dare, and I dare you to make a card with an aperture in it, it can be any shape you like and can be see through or have something covering behind it. It could be a ready made aperture card or lots of small windows punched out, diecut or handcut or one large window. It could be a shaker card and can be for any occasion."
For this dare, I hand cut the oval shape in the backing card and used deckle Victorian scissors to cut out the inserted oval shape. I used pale green and blue ink squares on the bg, then brushed pink ink on th einserted lacey edges. The brads are sherbet making memories brads, the butterflies are painted wooden shapes, the ribbon is SU! and there's silver pen outlining the edges of the window. The quote is computer generated and says 'If nothing ever changed, there's be no butterflies. Author unknown". The colours are a little softer and more companionable in real life.

well I am in awe of anyone who can handcut like that! it is a super card!
Well, you were quick off the mark today, Susan!!!
I'm with Lythan - I couldn't believe it when you said you'd hand cut that aperture. Nice quote to use and that turquoise is such a pretty colour - I may just have some of that spotty ribbon in my stash too;-)
Stunning & very quick.
Mind you, if I had a secret stash here under my desk mine would have been done twice over... bored bored bored!!!!
Nah, you'd never guess I've done all my work & want to go home!!
Your quick off the mark Susan ... ;). Fab card.
Hey Hey Susan !
Great to see what you're up to so fast ! I was thinking of using ribbons too --- still thinking ! lol - don't think I'd be so brave as to hand cut a window - I did try once to make a window with lace curtains idea - never finished it lol .....
Great ideas here ! ;-)

Lol! Thanks for the lovely comments, ladies. When I said I cut the aperture, I meant the inner ones - the outer one was actually a die cut I bought!! Sorry to have made you think otherwise. I also think I am creating when most of you are asleep - remember I'm from the 'land downunder' and our time zones are probably VERY different. It took me awhile to make that card - a few HOURS in fact - and some of my initial efforts went straight in the bin! Can't wait to see all of your cards too :-)
just beautiful Susan... lovely colours together, and a gorgeous verse... Cutie-pie little butterfies too... Well done on being so quick with this one... :o)
Beautiful Susan, I love the aqua colours witha splash of pink.
