I forgot that all you have to do is create a little pop out section in your card base to glue things to. </p><p>That's r this Cup of Tea card. I scored and cut a couple of little sections into my card base and made them fold the opposite direction to what they would usually do.</p><p>Then I decorated to my heart's content!</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgFM63SkT3uPP7VxLX_AAQBCUegJ3PyYdFA2MknbN-1239pj1JXwESGxy_CKqrRpXHrOwgtqmByP35hf9bNTbQprF-hljkkEq9FtKdtwd1Z_ZtWfdIw4SzV9brP5XFG-HpMzs4CzdnPJ9pbp5DJ28tFXCzPudkktMBotTICG0lgalriWPU1HPo/s1500/IMG20220628155318.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Pop Up Card" border="0" data-original-height="1500" data-original-width="1258" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgFM63SkT3uPP7VxLX_AAQBCUegJ3PyYdFA2MknbN-1239pj1JXwESGxy_CKqrRpXHrOwgtqmByP35hf9bNTbQprF-hljkkEq9FtKdtwd1Z_ZtWfdIw4SzV9brP5XFG-HpMzs4CzdnPJ9pbp5DJ28tFXCzPudkktMBotTICG0lgalriWPU1HPo/w335-h400/IMG20220628155318.jpg" title="Tea Boutique is a great suite of products to make this type of card!" width="335" /></a></div><p> </p><p>I thought the Cup of Tea stamp set and dies would make a great pip up card, so for this card, I scored lines out from the centre fold at the 1" (2cm) mark. Then I cut at right angles out to that mark. I didn't score all the way across the card, just along an inch (2cm) where I wanted my platforms to be.</p><p>Once you create your scores you cut at right angles form the centre score line to the 1" (2cm) mark.</p><p>After the cuts are made, you push the cut section towards you. It pops out like a little box step.<br /></p><p><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiw6RFqJu_eiM7-DkzLR5d60N4qVyvmRCL9JUePuH-MtvC-4TPZcQKwT3u712pnca7CuK5t-_3a7U7XT82TGLxEi3YjQpmUmxArva94GlLLNId_QWNuMUirViTAFAGpYaCBQGnZ1WE8fyPqmZDVNozdVGkwY6B-XXQnrJa5RfiJecXdJTzflnY/s1500/IMG20220628155322.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Pop Up Card" border="0" data-original-height="1500" data-original-width="920" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiw6RFqJu_eiM7-DkzLR5d60N4qVyvmRCL9JUePuH-MtvC-4TPZcQKwT3u712pnca7CuK5t-_3a7U7XT82TGLxEi3YjQpmUmxArva94GlLLNId_QWNuMUirViTAFAGpYaCBQGnZ1WE8fyPqmZDVNozdVGkwY6B-XXQnrJa5RfiJecXdJTzflnY/w245-h400/IMG20220628155322.jpg" title="See how the shelf is created by scoring and cutting into the card liner?" width="245" /></a></div><p></p><p>After that, you just create your pop up elements so they can be glued to the face of the pop out step!</p><p><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_ZIFkYei7dByhzoWTQ1RzsgKKZh6MKT4xE0L2_92foo4PZypPZTThhXsuHpwVSyd3Vp9IYKYbUjNAo6VaUvOSy2T9AiTHMo8YxFvubM8DdP-PAnKK3glX9zANFMu_c8ik4Q8ehRjxOYG-RSW_PABPqJwNdOUhZAaps0l3Oc9XHWfig5Xdj8c/s1500/IMG20220628155357.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Pop Up Card" border="0" data-original-height="1500" data-original-width="1479" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_ZIFkYei7dByhzoWTQ1RzsgKKZh6MKT4xE0L2_92foo4PZypPZTThhXsuHpwVSyd3Vp9IYKYbUjNAo6VaUvOSy2T9AiTHMo8YxFvubM8DdP-PAnKK3glX9zANFMu_c8ik4Q8ehRjxOYG-RSW_PABPqJwNdOUhZAaps0l3Oc9XHWfig5Xdj8c/w395-h400/IMG20220628155357.jpg" title="Another example of how cute the tea cups look from the Tea Boutique Suite" width="395" /></a></div><p>DESIGN HINT: When getting ready to glue your pop up elements to the step, close your card on it completely to make sure your card folds flat AND to make sure your decorative elements don't shoot out too far from the closed card. </p><p>You might have trouble getting your creation into an envelope otherwise, or would wind up having to make a very large card base!<br /></p><p><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkqOvvJ-AOONf1UhXyjG_ZxQNyRlClhDIoRHuK-EhLzPhhO5NKQYhh6LHo4VVz-501R_PlRf1RfRHx7j0u9iBz_hJh_8-OsNwWnJ7sxiTLTNizpirjgGIQNyHHFwCwvJIhaiaAn5Su8jbwgsUp98jjFASuQv9CGPVb73MABaMBcoiSede8JrU/s1500/IMG20220628155406.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Pop Up Card" border="0" data-original-height="1500" data-original-width="937" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkqOvvJ-AOONf1UhXyjG_ZxQNyRlClhDIoRHuK-EhLzPhhO5NKQYhh6LHo4VVz-501R_PlRf1RfRHx7j0u9iBz_hJh_8-OsNwWnJ7sxiTLTNizpirjgGIQNyHHFwCwvJIhaiaAn5Su8jbwgsUp98jjFASuQv9CGPVb73MABaMBcoiSede8JrU/w250-h400/IMG20220628155406.jpg" title="This card looks similar to the first one. In spite of everything that went wrong, I was able to think back this New Year's Eve and reflect on the many blessings that also happened. </p><p>There were major things like selling our old home and moving into a new one. There were important things like making new friends and continuing to develop friendships, being able to craft, learning new things. </p><p>We always had food on the table and petrol in the car, and we were able to take a few local trips.</p><p>So this New Year's Eve, I decided to make an Exploding Box Album to hold some of the precious memories of 2021. If you would like to make one too, find out how <a href="https://www.papercraftcentral.com/explosion-box-album.html" target="_blank">here</a>. I wrote you some instructions. And I have included information about the new supplies I used. The ribbon is the new Frayed Ribbon in white. </p><p>May 2022 be good to us all! </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEj0xcbYdHNMesfuMg2W_n4nrCAMm48rmfWFZt5VpJVQ3mjStdJtJBHJ9wsxN2Qcuc-pE9KqWwujYbl0jGNhjuuaGaQiumqyY_8v7Kulmr-KYkrLX8JwKAfO4yLKOtCGkwuGy_mhgLqkLzIjNCx0z-ez-6yMV5U5DX_oSxYNvnQ8mkZoS9_djjk=s3000" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Explosion Box Album" border="0" data-original-height="2884" data-original-width="3000" height="308" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEj0xcbYdHNMesfuMg2W_n4nrCAMm48rmfWFZt5VpJVQ3mjStdJtJBHJ9wsxN2Qcuc-pE9KqWwujYbl0jGNhjuuaGaQiumqyY_8v7Kulmr-KYkrLX8JwKAfO4yLKOtCGkwuGy_mhgLqkLzIjNCx0z-ez-6yMV5U5DX_oSxYNvnQ8mkZoS9_djjk=w320-h308" title="Showing the closed box album with a decorated lid." width="320" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEj0POA4RYsZwAERaDEfFMlLumMhBZqLfssjLXVwDo19SwELlrGWLNEnt_Mq4R1vJ8hEPPMD_MuDy_j6H4kRicfNu14sqIeUFpvxyafDshOqZyvdm29yvjKMkVmnCJEZaS-M4myXOhEP-bNbymMlrobPh5HO9x2vNSgmbEIScfyeDm7fq7fpzT8=s3385" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Explosion Box Album" border="0" data-original-height="3385" data-original-width="3000" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEj0POA4RYsZwAERaDEfFMlLumMhBZqLfssjLXVwDo19SwELlrGWLNEnt_Mq4R1vJ8hEPPMD_MuDy_j6H4kRicfNu14sqIeUFpvxyafDshOqZyvdm29yvjKMkVmnCJEZaS-M4myXOhEP-bNbymMlrobPh5HO9x2vNSgmbEIScfyeDm7fq7fpzT8=w284-h320" title="The album lays out flat when you take off the lid. It's such a pretty embellishment! And it isn't too hard to use.</p><p>It comes in a large jar like this.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhG0ZSYc2LTbKYwtwc1UYQ9Zmh7NE_yQRRe1CtX7CPOJEnyU7aWyyRBqFBJBtNrQMM7m3U2fUC28ePk6KEa94D6TLlxydZTrf6GUmRVOeHLkcb6l6xWK40GMyD-8yqASHSYCX37xw/s328/GildedLeafJar.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Gilded Leafing" border="0" data-original-height="328" data-original-width="248" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhG0ZSYc2LTbKYwtwc1UYQ9Zmh7NE_yQRRe1CtX7CPOJEnyU7aWyyRBqFBJBtNrQMM7m3U2fUC28ePk6KEa94D6TLlxydZTrf6GUmRVOeHLkcb6l6xWK40GMyD-8yqASHSYCX37xw/w242-h320/GildedLeafJar.JPG" title="An open jar of Gilded Leaf" width="242" /></a></div><br /><p>See that plastic container at the bottom left? You need one of those (I use a deeper one) to hold the gold leaf while you work with it.</p><p>Be careful once you let it out of the jar! It is light as a feather and easy to cause it to puff into the air! I turn off all fans and close the windows when I am working with it. This is a time even a face mask could be useful! It will stop you accidentally puffing air towards the light, thin leaf and then finding it all over your desk and clothing!</p><p>The next thing I use to affix gold leaf is my Tombow Multipurpose liquid glue. I add a thin film of the glue to the part of an image I want to gild and put it aside to dry. Tombow Multi dries tacky! It's perfect for adding some gilded leaf to your projects.</p><p>You can even draw wiggly lines like this, allow them to dry, and gild them. Try dots, add some glue to the middle of a flower image, or to the windows of a stamped house. Add some to a reindeer image's antlers! The possibilities are endless.<br /></p><p> <br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMO5Qs3X51zbEJTyAQvoyxD1diaeLmGR_KvregHkxgBHRxEZTPtcNw2_4FghKg4NpdUjN2HBLzoBPzLvt1UW0Jy_d-nA1jcm3_FycUh7JgMeyyWUAIKP1DipSRKcrRf8jIDnOQTw/s425/TombowMulti.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Tombow Multipurpose Adhesive" border="0" data-original-height="352" data-original-width="425" height="265" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMO5Qs3X51zbEJTyAQvoyxD1diaeLmGR_KvregHkxgBHRxEZTPtcNw2_4FghKg4NpdUjN2HBLzoBPzLvt1UW0Jy_d-nA1jcm3_FycUh7JgMeyyWUAIKP1DipSRKcrRf8jIDnOQTw/w320-h265/TombowMulti.JPG" title="I love this versatile liquid glue." width="320" /></a></div><p> </p><p>The next thing you need is some kind of brush with stiff bristles. I use one like this. I bought it at a grocery store in the stationery section. You could even use an inexpensive child's paintbrush set. It is a perfect tool for brushing away excess gold leafing.<br /></p><p><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijt7381ts1zZenBg9zc7sYYLANc01BtYobhC1aVljm0_NR0yYrdheqTPMwtsIuubx8k5zttXMnA4OiWgE1tqtUcZRiezK1G5oxOddwKn1aWk-iyRn0h2lmRRXlTIKbSN_ebWwiMg/s384/StiffBrush.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Paint Brush" border="0" data-original-height="384" data-original-width="382" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijt7381ts1zZenBg9zc7sYYLANc01BtYobhC1aVljm0_NR0yYrdheqTPMwtsIuubx8k5zttXMnA4OiWgE1tqtUcZRiezK1G5oxOddwKn1aWk-iyRn0h2lmRRXlTIKbSN_ebWwiMg/w318-h320/StiffBrush.JPG" title="Choose a brish with stiff bristles for your gold leafing projects" width="318" /></a></div><p>So once you have your tacky image all set to go, put a little gold leaf into your large container, and press your tacky image into the gold leaf. It will pick up lots of fluffy bits! Then bring in your stiff brush and brush away the excess, making sure the excess your brush off falls back into your large container.</p><p>For the project I am showcasing here, I dry embossed my cardstock then swiped Tombow across some of the raised parts, allowed it to dry, then pressed the gilded leafing into the tackiness. I brushed away the excess and voila! A finished, embellished piece!</p><p> </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgpCRXSb97w5lpvVhXqIzZZOndaHxUl4touThU8EWxrdSE50c1CEJYgaOtyC2reIRZMtJSVwn-waLeCoUtGv6AeL8Z3DbjSGN_mPCvkhXkmJR4KAYvMxYpZpY6E9_lroHUvoEZ0mg/s1500/GardenWishesGoldLea2..jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Gilded Leafing" border="0" data-original-height="1125" data-original-width="1500" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgpCRXSb97w5lpvVhXqIzZZOndaHxUl4touThU8EWxrdSE50c1CEJYgaOtyC2reIRZMtJSVwn-waLeCoUtGv6AeL8Z3DbjSGN_mPCvkhXkmJR4KAYvMxYpZpY6E9_lroHUvoEZ0mg/w320-h240/GardenWishesGoldLea2..jpg" title="Here's how the gold leaf looks on a dry embossed pece of cardstck." width="320" /></a></div><p></p><p><br /></p><p>Be sure to use the same stiff brush to help to carefully put the excess Gilded Leafing back into its jar.</p><p><b>Other ways to Use Gilded Leafing: </b><br /></p><p>You can also use Heat and Stick Powder to gild stamped images. Stamp in Versamark first. Quickly pour Heat & Stick Powder on top. Tap away the excess (as thought you are going to heat emboss the image).</p><p>Now use a heat tool to quickly heat the Heat & Stick powder. The trick here is not to heat it too long. Your image will then be tacky enough to pick up the Gold Leafing. <br /></p><p>You can use double sided tape to create lines of gilded leafing on your projects. Just lay some tape down on your project, take off the covering paper, and press it into the gold leafing. You could create just straight lines or criss-cross lines of tape across your project to create a pattern.<br /></p><p>I'll add a few more images once I have photographed my projects to show you what I mean.</p><p><br /></p><p>Here are links to the products I used while using gilded leafing: <br /></p><p><a href="https://www.stampinup.com.au/products/gilded-leafing" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Gilded Leafing </a></p><p><a href="https://www.stampinup.com.au/products/multipurpose-liquid-glue" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Multi Purpose Liquid Glue </a></p><p><a href="https://www.stampinup.com.au/products/versamark-pad" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Versamark Pad</a></p><p><a href="https://www.stampinup.com.au/products/heat-tool" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Heat Tool</a></p><p><a href="https://www.stampinup.com.au/products/heat-stick-powder" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Heat & Stick Powder </a></p><p><br /></p><p>Ask questions about how to use these products in comments and I will get back to you. :) <br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p>Susan Hurley-Lukehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16576835307387726494noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24826101.post-29617691677741439912021-02-18T13:41:00.001+10:002021-02-18T13:41:28.624+10:00Gilded Leafing as an Embellishment<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgtyj7CB7fsfPV3JKR4HnQKPUt0Jur2c2GZVxESgcsmn0Gxx9AkIKlVoRFPOzmUW2qBm9GtShyQ_nPRmzteyVVffq5wtTMIXHEUEVo9i4trFV3rQjFpE9sZBYu4567ktrVu5v9SFQ/s1500/GardenWishesGoldLeaf.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Garden Wishes" border="0" data-original-height="1039" data-original-width="1500" height="278" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgtyj7CB7fsfPV3JKR4HnQKPUt0Jur2c2GZVxESgcsmn0Gxx9AkIKlVoRFPOzmUW2qBm9GtShyQ_nPRmzteyVVffq5wtTMIXHEUEVo9i4trFV3rQjFpE9sZBYu4567ktrVu5v9SFQ/w400-h278/GardenWishesGoldLeaf.jpg" title="Use gilded leafing as an embellishment on your embossed backgrounds" width="400" /> </a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Gilded leafing is a popular technique this year and I just had to try playing with it! </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"> </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">This card has an embossed panel in the background and I chose to use the gilded leafing on that. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">When you get these gold flakes, they come in a large jar. Today is Galentine's Day and I have a stamp set to prove it! Lol! It's a day started around 2010 in the US after a TV show named an episode after the celebration of gal pals. It's a day to let your girlfriends know you appreciate them and all they do! Have a party, phone them, send a card. I made sure to make a heap of these little cards so I could wish my church friends a happy day.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQYfBo8_VuJvrYt6mlFnxPuTWJu-FvV9xtvSup6aFm6Kt6MmVvDgYANwFKN3A63Cyjrh7-_ZkPlia2TND-V7h6sidEw0lnPUEFuCa194NHtxMLEar_SfwMx8hCmKYvOT5TwzGt0Q/s1500/GalentinesCards3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1354" data-original-width="1500" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQYfBo8_VuJvrYt6mlFnxPuTWJu-FvV9xtvSup6aFm6Kt6MmVvDgYANwFKN3A63Cyjrh7-_ZkPlia2TND-V7h6sidEw0lnPUEFuCa194NHtxMLEar_SfwMx8hCmKYvOT5TwzGt0Q/s320/GalentinesCards3.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><p>Galentine's Day happens on February 14th, the day before Valentine's Day. I think is is a great way to make those who aren't in a relationship, are widowed or divorced, special as well. Valentine's Day can be a bad day for them, so why not take the opportunity to turn it around for them a little?</p><p>Here are the supplies I used to make my little Galentine's Day cards. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjCUUUnjlezGc3aYm3k_srrZ5q9skqkCfzRDT30JUpphDzt3h7_QDOZj9E2hQkMmESgDT_M6YsfeRXWJQRwI6vEFJHv7WuNiWNy63QgbMu0aTsaKiQJbhCk5D7Cp5pWeAtrdy_0NQ/s1500/GalentinesCardsSupplies.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1500" data-original-width="1311" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjCUUUnjlezGc3aYm3k_srrZ5q9skqkCfzRDT30JUpphDzt3h7_QDOZj9E2hQkMmESgDT_M6YsfeRXWJQRwI6vEFJHv7WuNiWNy63QgbMu0aTsaKiQJbhCk5D7Cp5pWeAtrdy_0NQ/s320/GalentinesCardsSupplies.jpg" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhuLYxR-UG03mlyC_9vWHsSKGzyq8oGo_-7xaVBTlsgzV_mdaNjBEJFJd2ITC660cgoRkD39zybZV-rsM8U7kmijcnnW6GwCKBAcIBDUgg5a5GApZ6yI2K7PfAD7unp7y_H5N36LQ/s421/HeartsAndKissesBundle.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="388" data-original-width="421" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhuLYxR-UG03mlyC_9vWHsSKGzyq8oGo_-7xaVBTlsgzV_mdaNjBEJFJd2ITC660cgoRkD39zybZV-rsM8U7kmijcnnW6GwCKBAcIBDUgg5a5GApZ6yI2K7PfAD7unp7y_H5N36LQ/s320/HeartsAndKissesBundle.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br /><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjBAmniRKWeMzNt4Hl-_JjvFv0yTjfrR3rI79yZCxI86jLCMfajmlNBZQTxlTX9sFfrYhwxFQB5cLq_MpsTIunaWMUglodWpiANy9wulnxwQR8so_nlcIBBAIuxH8LWftIYEQmAzw/s466/HeartsAndKissesStampSet.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="466" data-original-width="437" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjBAmniRKWeMzNt4Hl-_JjvFv0yTjfrR3rI79yZCxI86jLCMfajmlNBZQTxlTX9sFfrYhwxFQB5cLq_MpsTIunaWMUglodWpiANy9wulnxwQR8so_nlcIBBAIuxH8LWftIYEQmAzw/s320/HeartsAndKissesStampSet.JPG" /></a></div><p>I think I have an idea for my husband's Valentine using this set as well. CEO this week. (Yes! She is a crafter too!) She challenged all who love Stampin' Up! to use some stencils and embossing paste this week, and I decided I would answer her call!<br />
<br />
So I broke out my (retired) silver embossing paste and a plastic spoon as a tool for spreading it (I couldn't find my palette knives!), found a stencil and some water colour paper, and got to work.<br />
<br />
First I washed down my watercolour paper with water from a Water Painter. Then a dropped a couple of drops of Balmy Blue reinker on the paper and washed that around with my Water Painter as a background.<br />
<br />
That had to dry before I used my embossing paste so I speeded the drying time along with my heat tool.<br />
<br />
Next I laid my stencil down on my silicone craft mat and smooshed some embossing paste over the top. You can get these palette knives to handle the paste. Just remember to have a flattish container with nice, warm, soapy water handy to put your stencils and tools into after you finish smooshing. Embossing paste dries hard very quickly. I also popped my Silicone Craft sheet in ti be cleaned.<br />
<br />
While the paste was drying, I prepared some stamped anchors and seaweed, and I heat embossed one anchor in silver. I got my sentiment tag ready too. And I found some retired Designer Series Paper to decorate my Smokey Slate card base inside and out, and got that ready.<br />
<br />
I added some retired Baker's Twine to my anchors and then arranged the elements on my card front.<br />

Once I was happy with their placement, I adhered everything down, then added this layer to my decorated, fun fold card base.<br />

Don't forget to decorate the inside of your card!<br />

Have you tried embossing paste yet? You can now get <a href="https://www.stampinup.com.au/products/embossing-paste" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">White (141979)</a> and <a href="https://www.stampinup.com.au/products/shimmery-white-embossing-paste" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Shimmery White (145645)</a> embossing paste and can change the colour of both with a few drops of reinker, so you can have nearly 50 colours!<br />

What a great bundle this is! The big, beautiful main stamp and die really caught my eye. I have linked all the products I used so you can find them in my SusanSalutations online store. I just know you will want to recreate these cards or explore some ideas of your own! <br /></div><div><br /></div><div>First I started playing with the <a href="https://www.blogger.com/#" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">dies</a>. The main die fills a whole card front! I could cut the die cut in half and make two cards! Woo hoo!</div><div><br /></div><div>I used one of my <a href="https://www.stampinup.com.au/products/water-painters" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Water Painters</a> to water paint different ink colours on the <a href="https://www.stampinup.com.au/products/shimmery-white-a4-cardstock" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Shimmery White A4 Cardstock</a> die cut and let them dry before I cut the die cut in half. <br /></div><div><br /></div><div>All it took was some <a href="https://www.stampinup.com.au/products/basic-black-a4-cardstock" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Basic Black cardstock</a>, some <a href="https://www.stampinup.com.au/products/gold-foil-sheets" target="_blank">Gold Foil sheet </a>and some <a href="https://www.stampinup.com.au/products/gold-stampin-emboss-powder" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Gold Stampin' Emboss powder</a> with a few <a href="https://www.stampinup.com.au/products/gilded-gems" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Gilded Gems</a> to create this card. I mounted it on a <a href="https://www.stampinup.com.au/products/pretty-peacock-a4-cardstock" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Pretty Peacock cardstock</a> base.</div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizjYh5jswZNuIroEYu0pRbBh48psQ9CDEr82ptIQ4Ua85B1yV5VgTPVE9_CRWCyiqlFPhwJ3L4Jy5Yg60Ewbfwe7YqhLi1hkdbQfcVLCZuAyO2oNjID6c_4kgVz6My5bSryfq6LA/s1500/IMG20200613164243.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Many Layered Blossoms dies" border="0" data-original-height="1210" data-original-width="1500" height="258" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizjYh5jswZNuIroEYu0pRbBh48psQ9CDEr82ptIQ4Ua85B1yV5VgTPVE9_CRWCyiqlFPhwJ3L4Jy5Yg60Ewbfwe7YqhLi1hkdbQfcVLCZuAyO2oNjID6c_4kgVz6My5bSryfq6LA/w320-h258/IMG20200613164243.jpg" title="The die cuts make wonderful images for cards and scrapbook pages." width="320" /></a></div><div><br /></div><div>Here's a closeup of the water painted blossoms on black:</div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjG47cxerfj3lTszxah3eQyERjNhbr_NTKPwBoefXiRck0QoKi9a4R7gCTzaaK5jpaEZJFX6iOzAYM3QtvGyKfBlzCzK5GpdY5rnDBSjy6Fu21UMfMiOFZpCDo-B51DjR24hB44CA/s1500/IMG20200613164250.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Many Layered Blossoms Dies" border="0" data-original-height="1125" data-original-width="1500" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjG47cxerfj3lTszxah3eQyERjNhbr_NTKPwBoefXiRck0QoKi9a4R7gCTzaaK5jpaEZJFX6iOzAYM3QtvGyKfBlzCzK5GpdY5rnDBSjy6Fu21UMfMiOFZpCDo-B51DjR24hB44CA/w320-h240/IMG20200613164250.jpg" title="This die was easy to cut in half to make two cards." width="320" /></a></div><div><br /></div><div>Then I wondered what the second half of the die would look like when glued to a <a href="https://www.stampinup.com.au/products/whisper-white-a4-thick-cardstock" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">thick Whisper White cardstock base</a>, I was not disappointed! <br /></div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiiFC7OXmLjprqLb1q6tvHgS7HqIIsozjO3Zd4Nu7v7nRQVHz5XtdU2vbVQa8JwwWly_pPWiwHDPefxumDFMtODynApzSeWENqG6LpICRH8oBYZ5ROHnX-u7mCFXhSz1pgkp05K2g/s1500/IMG20200613164641.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Many Layered Blossoms dies" border="0" data-original-height="1297" data-original-width="1500" height="277" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiiFC7OXmLjprqLb1q6tvHgS7HqIIsozjO3Zd4Nu7v7nRQVHz5XtdU2vbVQa8JwwWly_pPWiwHDPefxumDFMtODynApzSeWENqG6LpICRH8oBYZ5ROHnX-u7mCFXhSz1pgkp05K2g/w320-h277/IMG20200613164641.jpg" title="This watercoloured die cut is so fresh on Whisper White cardstock!" width="320" /></a></div><div><br /></div><div>It was so fresh looking! Or layered them? Or.....<br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Right, back to the craft room. It's just so lovely to create with.<br />
<br /><div>
When I first ordered I left out the stamp set! I was interested in the designer series paper and embossing folders (which are smaller, by the way, than the size we have been used to from Stampin' Up!) and forgot about the stamp set! I have ordered it now and have to wait till it arrives to use the beautifully details distINKtive images. <br /></div><div><br /></div><div>The beauty of the product suites is that you get a discount when you order everything together. If you like though, you can pick and choose what parts of the suite to order individually. You won't get the savings you get with buying a suite, but it is possible to order everything individually.<br /></div>
<br />
In the meantime, I played with the dsp and some of the elements to make a photo gift folder. I love how it turned out. Here is the front before I finished adding ribbon and dsp to the tags in the pockets:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjHCsZEeA8bcXkBzJxdRHhPO-73KSasD1TGZhy-Ohy8x9N9y29HpPtg1tcyf-ms3e5rE6KeFH6Q1J96nXXKvNePSKHSPenoqU1XohvP51n52QP9gAI_06pVyMto25MxaLHywl57PQ/s1600/IMG20200610161932.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1500" data-original-width="957" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjHCsZEeA8bcXkBzJxdRHhPO-73KSasD1TGZhy-Ohy8x9N9y29HpPtg1tcyf-ms3e5rE6KeFH6Q1J96nXXKvNePSKHSPenoqU1XohvP51n52QP9gAI_06pVyMto25MxaLHywl57PQ/s320/IMG20200610161932.jpg" width="204" /></a></div>
<br />
And here is what it looks like inside. I left the Whisper White panel free so I can stamp and write on it when I know who I am giving it to.<br />

Here's the first tag folder I made using retired dsp to see how it would turn out. I liked it so much!<br />

I finished this one much more thoroughly using the <a href="https://www.stampinup.com.au/products/forever-blossoms-cling-stamp-set-(en)" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Forever Blossoms stamp set</a>. It's a beautiful set of images and sentiments too.<br />

I will miss the dsp but you can create stamped birds with the stamp set.." width="320" /></a></div>
One of the designer series paper packs I am going to miss when the new catalogue comes out in June is the one that I featured in the anniversary card - Bird Ballad designer series paper.<br />
<br />
It has so many beautiful designs. I especially love the birds that have been coloured in and seated on beautiful branches with leaves and little flowers. I have fussy cut numbers of these little scenes and popped them up on card fronts. I thought the pair of birds shown above were perfect to wish my friends a happy anniversary.<br />
<br />
There are many choices of birds for your cards. Here is one who landed on my card's windowsill to wish someone a cheery hello! <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjpjdtymFgQ15TEua4oPCjfku6IU6KCJxWO1HK5Rie3wOeNGZNTv4wOAC0x05wjx6t-2IfOAKNlM-yld4-dGYj1d3kKwW8BRr4QrDRALYpDAF-fGOlffWPhX_vBH1c7G3dgxUfulg/s1600/BirdInWindowWM.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Free as a Bird stamp set" border="0" data-original-height="1229" data-original-width="1500" height="262" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjpjdtymFgQ15TEua4oPCjfku6IU6KCJxWO1HK5Rie3wOeNGZNTv4wOAC0x05wjx6t-2IfOAKNlM-yld4-dGYj1d3kKwW8BRr4QrDRALYpDAF-fGOlffWPhX_vBH1c7G3dgxUfulg/w320-h262/BirdInWindowWM.jpg" title="Create a wndow for a bird to sit in" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
This trio of birds made a fancy card even fancier. I made my backgrund by making a grid of coloured cardstock squares, then layering a laser cut sheet on top, and finally adding my popped up birds and a pretty bow.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Quick cards are possible using a stamped image of the birds on top of the designer series paper. The single stamped bird looks mighty fine on the envelope. The birds take next to no time to colour with Stampin' Blends.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg0XCwXv8lus4FcJvE7cAcWIl4KQ4eZwx3u4uFgE9ERu0kQaGAVzzEw-JVCWtVIwLMmHExZ9NiCJ_WnqW5Oz5_nthUEfQNk5DQ0I7mvMeJAf9LRzvUENe71E9PwDS48VRTb1J4WNg/s1600/IMG20190607105710.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Free as a Bird" border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1282" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg0XCwXv8lus4FcJvE7cAcWIl4KQ4eZwx3u4uFgE9ERu0kQaGAVzzEw-JVCWtVIwLMmHExZ9NiCJ_WnqW5Oz5_nthUEfQNk5DQ0I7mvMeJAf9LRzvUENe71E9PwDS48VRTb1J4WNg/w256-h320/IMG20190607105710.jpg" style="cursor: move;" title="How easy it is to create beautiful cards with the bird stamp!" width="256" /></a></div>
<br />
I made a Z fold card for a special friend's birthday, this time highlighting the pretty flowers on the designer series paper, but making sure I added in some fussy cut little birds at the front. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
So can you see how beautiful and versatile this designer series paper is?<br />
<br />
It won't be available much longer.<br />
<br />
If you want to grab a pack or two, order from <a href="https://www3.stampinup.com/ecweb/product/149592/bird-ballad-designer-series-paper" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">SusanSalutations </a>as soon as you can to avoid being disappointed.<br />
<br />
It could sell out any time now.<br />
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Oh my word, I just love Grace's Garden stamp set and dies. When I saw it in the Stampin' Up! catalogue, I knew I had to buy it. And it didn't disappoint!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I chose shades of purple to make my garden card as the birthday girl I made it for loves purple. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
It was fun finding out how I could make all sorts of tones of purple with my inks and an aqua painter. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Here's how it turned out:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I love the little cat and bird." width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
Isn't it beautiful? The stamps and dies are just wonderful to work with! It also helped that I was making this card for a good friend who, like so many of us, was facing a birthday in lock down. She is also an avid crafter and gardener, so this bundle of goodies was made for her!<br />
<br />
You can see how dimensional the card front is, with fence palings, plants, a cat and a bird all popping off the page.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

This year they are putting those retiring products on the <a href="https://www3.stampinup.com/ecweb/products/3000500/last-chance-products" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Last Chance List</a>.<br />
<br />
Every year the first things to sell out are usually the retiring In Color <a href="https://www3.stampinup.com/ecweb/search/reinkers" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">reinkers</a>, and the die cutting dies that are going away. This year the colours that are retiring are Blueberry Bushel, Pineapple Punch, Grapefruit Grove, Call Me Clover and Lovely Lipstick. <br />
<br />
If you need the reinkers for the colours I just listed, better grab them fast!<br />
<br />
One thing that may puzzle some people is the fact that so many Blends are listed as retiring. Don't panic! The Blends will still be there (except for retiring In Colors). They are not going to be offered as single pens though. They will be sold in combination packs of dark and light pens, and they will get new order numbers too.<br />
<br />
Some bundles will no longer be offered at a discount either, but the stamp sets and dies will be offered separately. If you have your eye on a bundle, why not get it at a discount before June 2nd (or before it sells out?)<br />
<br />
Do contact me if you have any questions or need help ordering. I am always happy to enable you! Lol!<br />

Usually people get up at 4am to attend an open service honouring the Anzacs. This year that won't be possible, but people are making and hanging wreaths of poppies on their fences and front doors, and decorating candles with poppies and agreeing to go to the end of their driveways at 5.55am to stand in silence and respect for 10minutes, to honour those lost lives and the freedoms we were given by them.<br />
<br />
I decided to make a paper poppy wreath for our front door using the Poppy Moments dies. Being paper, it cannot be hung out in the weather, but it makes a statement.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjz08tTFVfruNDEqb91wLGoQNX2kfLWpsU2nQmLiUjYcLK9hUNvqZI9LMyZ904do18Jn3BDf0bZt_Sq8NxzkGXTNYHXXe9UKCAq3ReIWWOirExm05zFZtorNDD5TnwiqTEKTU8uqg/s1600/IMG20200422145605.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Peaceful Moments Bundle" border="0" data-original-height="1500" data-original-width="1133" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjz08tTFVfruNDEqb91wLGoQNX2kfLWpsU2nQmLiUjYcLK9hUNvqZI9LMyZ904do18Jn3BDf0bZt_Sq8NxzkGXTNYHXXe9UKCAq3ReIWWOirExm05zFZtorNDD5TnwiqTEKTU8uqg/w301-h400/IMG20200422145605.jpg" title="Create a Poppy wreath for Anzac Day or Memorial Day" width="301" /></a></div>
There are free instructions for how to make a wreath like this on <a href="https://www.papercraftcentral.com/anzac-day-wreath.html" target="_blank">PaperCraftCentral.com </a><br />
<br />
I'll be stamping poppies on vellum to wrap around a candle jar too so we can hold lighted candles in our driveways.<br />
<br />
What are you making for Anzac Day?<br />

If not, find out more at <a href="https://www.papercraftcentral.com/atc.html" target="_blank">PaperCraftCentral</a>. I am going to make a few this year. I have been making them for quite a few years. Here's my first one for 2019, made with the new Needles and Thread stamp set. It also has coordinating dies but I just used the stamps here, and I wanted it to say 'your Mother' instead of just 'you' so I wrote in the extra letters I wanted with a Stampin' Write! marker.<br />

<br />
ATCs make great pieces for cards too.<br />
<br />
I just love the new stamp set and dies, and also the yummy designer series paper. It is made from photos of actual embroidery!<br />

Isn't it delightful? As a quilter, I love it. I don't do much hand embroidery any more but sure do appreciate it.<br />
<br />
Happy crafting today!<br />
