Bloomin' Love and Bloomin' Hearts Valentine

Valentine's Day is just around the corner! At my Tuesday class today, I helped some ladies make these pretty cards with the Bloomin' Hearts thinlit die and the Bloomin' Love stamp set.

We added double sided Tear 'n Tape to a piece of Whisper White cardstock then flipped it over and sponged it in Pink Pirouette, Soft Sky and So Saffron before die cutting it. The adhesive on the back was perfect for placing our hearts on the Smokey Slate background with no liquid glue to ooze out!

We punched some Petite Petal flowers out from Shimmery White paper, shaped them a bit and added some Candy Dots to them, tied a bow with white seam binding, then stamped the background in  Pink Pirouette.

We stamped the sentiment on Whisper White in Smokey Slate and punched it out with the Decorative Label Punch. It got popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Happy Valentine's Day to some loved people! 💝

Avant Garden

Oh I love this new stamp set ☺It is called Avant Garden and it is only available until the end of March! It is featured in the Sale-A-Bration catalogue released this month and guess what? You can get it for free! All you need to do is place a $90 product order and this entitles you to select a free Sale-A-Bration reward. Browse the new stampin' goodness at my SusanSalutations shop.

How did I make the pretty card pictured above? Well, I stamped the images first in Tempting Turquoise, Sweet Sugarplum, Peekaboo Peach, So Saffron, Blushing Bride, Mint Macaron and Smokey Slate.

Then I took my small Affectionately Yours embossing folder and  embossed the image not once, but three times, moving the folder each time to cover a new area.

The main image is layered on Tempting Turquoise and then on a card base of Daffodil Delight.

I hope you like it!

(Do you know, the flower Avant Garden flower petals make great palm tree tops?? They do! Turn them upside down and stamp them in Garden Green on a Crumb Cake palm tree trunk to see what I mean! )

Oh So Succulent!

What do you love most in the new Occasions Catalogue? My fascination so far has been with the Oh So Succulent bundle (item no 145184) of stamps and framelits. You can make the little plants look so real! Of course, you can buy either the stamp set or the framelits instead of the bundle, but I could not resist buying the bundle. You get a 10% savings when you do that, so why not take advantage of the discount, right? You stamp on the ends of the petals to make them look like succulents:

Stampin' Up! is so good at coordinating their products and I love that. You can also get coordinating designer series paper (142778), cardstock (142780), and ribbon (142781) but you can of course use these items with other stamp sets and dies.

There is even a kit! (item no 143635) It's called Vertical Garden.  I think the project it makes is very pretty and you never have to water it:

You can see how to assemble the kit on the How to Make Paper Flowers page. There's even a little video showing how to make the Vertical Garden.

If you would like to see close ups of these beautiful stamps and dies, you can use the codes I typed after each item to look them up at my SusanSalutations shop (click on 'Shop Now to pen the shop). Remember to check out the Clearance Rack and the Holiday Catalogue Carryover items too, You might find a bargain 😊

Happy New Year 2017!

Happy New Year! I made this little card from one of the Sale-A-Bration reward stamp sets, Avant Garden, and another one called Delicate Details. The sentiment came form Teeny Tiny Sentiments (found in the main catalogue). I stamped my flower on Shimmer White cardstock then added some Sweet Sugarplum and Wild Wasabi ink with an aqua painter. When it was dry I ran over the flower with clear wink of Stella to give a shimmer. I stamped the background after I did the colouring. Then I mounted my white cardstock on Sweet Sugarplum, added some Emerald Envy ribbon, and chose a Crumb Cake card base.  I stamped the Delicate Detail on the cardbase before mounting my main image with Stampin' Dimensionals. The Delicate Details stamp was not long enough to go right across my card base so I just lined it up by eye (the stamp is photopolymer and therefore see-through) to make it go right across.
